MTC Rapier wireless laser rangefinder and Rapier Ballistic smartphone app - ON TEST
Fancy laser guided airgun shooting? Enter the new Rapier Ballistic wireless lazer rangefinder from MTC Optics - and Nigel Allen has been putting this £250 hi-tech new gadget to the test for AirgunTV!
Zap your target with the invisible lazer beam... and the MTC Rapier Ballistic not only gives the exact distance to the nearest yard or meter in its head-up LCD display, but also graphically relays information to your Apple or Android smartphone... and even whispers in your ear where, EXACTLY, you need to be aiming via its supplied wireless BlueTooth earpiece!
This film takes a detailed look at MTC Optics' groundbreaking new Rapier Ballistic RF, and puts both the palm-size laser unit and its (free) App software to the test in another highly-detailed AirgunTV review.

The vapour pressure of CO² in a 12g and 80g will be the same, so no increase in velocity for 80g.

Hi I just purchased the Gamo p25 CO2 pistol. Is it recommended that I clean the barrel before shooting any pellets? With PCP rifles they always recommend cleaning a new Barrel of any kind of preservation oils that they use.

The only thing I could say would be that if a "pellet seater" what ever kind would or could remove some variation from using one's thumb, ie it would seat the pellet at a known distance every time but this is just a guess. I think the only way to test this is for several people to repeat it with same devices but also have the gun locked down to remove variation from shooter bias.

I've shot real guns n just few air rifles n I got to an air pistol so far I got the umarex walther cp99 and it feels like I wanna mod it as I find interest tuning guns up but there is few 4.5mm pellet pistols that come threaded up n ready for fake tube ones there may be few good ones but this looks like it's ment for the job really well n it be silent too thats amazing

A properly sized ball bearing does the job nicely. One thing to remember is that during seating with a tool of any kind its possible to shear off some lead from the skirt. Make sure you look for that and remove it or risk having it pushed into the barrel and destroying accuracy for subsequent shots.

The point about co2 guns not working on air is rubbish. Co2 guns have to be proofed to at least 1900psi due to that being the max pressure co2 canisters can reach on a hot day, therefore, you can safely use them with air upto 1900psi.

Seating pellets is a tricky thing considering bypassing the threshold of the breech can cause loss of power. Much like blowguns with short bursts of air equal to the amount of air your mouth can contain far surpasses wasted lung fulls. If spring and gas pistons utilized 3/4 of their travel range on what they do best and dedicated 1/4 of it to a pocket of air, break barrels would double their muzzle energy guaranteed. One of the most valuable lessons I have learned lately that I should have learned over 30 years ago is that simply flushing the pellet skirt level with the breech seal and allowing the breech to do it's own thing will not only put pellets in the same hole every time but, will most definitely give you higher and more consistent chronny numbers. You're welcome.
